You’ve always dreamed of writing your stories, but now you ask yourself: How do I start? Are my stories really that interesting? Can I fill the pages of a whole book with them?

Remember! We all carry a multitude of stories within us. Your stories are as unique, gripping, and heart-warming as those by any famous writer.

Spend a relaxing weekend communing with your inner writer at picturesque Camp Ocean Pines overlooking the shores of the California Central Coast. Experience the satisfying process of writing with Shoshana Kobrin, author, writing coach, and psychotherapist. Whether you’re a beginner, yearning to send your words out into the world or an experienced writer wishing to refine and expand your craft, you will be inspired by this stimulating two-day retreat; a blend of informational learning and hands-on experience. You will leave wit the tools you need to put your stories into print!

You will experience:

  • Discovering and developing ideas for your stories

  • Readings of classic and modern stories as to illustrate theory

  • The writer’s process in building stories

  • Creating your own stories

  • Interactive discussion in small and large groups

  • A guided step-by-step process

  • Positive and constructive feedback

The retreat includes:

  • Analysis of structure and elements of the short story

  • Traditional and modern methods of shaping plot

  • What makes a successful or unsuccessful story

  • How the short story is similar to and differs from other forms of literature

  • Information about publication options

  • A copy of Shoshana’s book of short stories

Closer to the date, you will receive information about what to bring to the retreat.
